Letter from the Master of an Offshore Support Vessel: LOA 60m, low freeboard, speed 9knots: "This is to state my and my crew's thanks to the Shipguard team that travelled with us from Djibouti to Abu Dhabi crossing the area of risk from piracy in the Gulf of Aden. The team, led by GM, were very impressive with their professional approach and experienced behaviour. From first boarding in Djibouti they assessed the situation very quickly and procured from ashore all that was required. Having built the vessel defences they then stood watch with quiet efficiency. The safety briefing held with the ship's crew was excellent and reduced significantly many of the fears that had built up about the Gulf of Aden . They integrated very well with the ship's routines and worked very hard to ensure the navigating officers felt comfortable with the situation.
